Ahadi Jigger Foundation Visit GPOC children PDF Print E-mail

The Ahadi Jigger Foundation visited the Grace and Peace Orphanage Centre children on Saturday September 28th, 2010. The Kakamega branch officials had arranged various activities for this day like football, athletics and other sports and games. The GPOC staff also went through the academic records of the children congratulating the progress noted and also encouraging those who are not doing very well to work harder.

The climax of the day events was health education where the staff from Ahadi Jigger foundation advised the children on how to take good care of themselves hygienically and by eating right. They also gave medical treatment to the children that had been invested by jiggers and fungus on their feet. Jiggers has become a great concern among the GPOC children and seven of the children had been hit hard thanks to Ahadi Jigger foundation who gave them medication like and antiseptic, and antifungal creams and soaps, and gave others antibiotic medication as needed.

Current Project in Kakamega Kenya East Africa PDF Print E-mail

Our current project is to build an orphanage in Kakamega Kenya East Africa. The orphanage will provide food, shelter, clothing and education for children and youths by providing primary, secondary, and technical (Vocational) schools, vaccinations, and heath care. In future by the grace of God we intend to open other orphanages in Nairobi and Nakuru in Kenya.

It is estimated that approximately 8% of the adult population in Kenya is HIV-positive. Currently, 1.2 million children in Kenya have lost one or both parents to the disease. Orphans are often taken in by extended family members, but those families already afflicted by poverty may struggle to cope, both financially and emotionally, and find that they are unable to care for these already-traumatized children.

Most of the children seeking help through our organization has medical conditions and need immediate medical attention.  Just imagine being sick, hungry and without a place to go home to!

AIDS is a serious problem in Kenya and most of the children are the unfortunate victims of the attack of AIDS on their parents and in some cases it is passed to the children before birth or after. We hope that the work we will do will be able to give back innocence to the children, and through our teaching and nurturing we hope to make them productive citizens of the world.

Your Help Is Needed

Won't you please join our friends and supporters to help these innocent victims of AIDS overcome the desperation and hopelessness so we will be able to support the orphanage? Becoming a (insert name of organization here) supporter enriches your life in ways we can't begin to describe. We encourage you to become a supporter and find out how it feels to change a child's life, and perhaps your own as well.

I Timothy 3:5 - May the Lord direct your heart to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. vs 13 - Brethren, do not be weary in well doing. vs 16 - Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.
